Club Update

Club update

Well… what a year already! It’s certainly been full of surprises but thankfully the club is chugging along with help from our sponsors, our committee, and most importantly our fantastic members.

Most importantly it’s looking like we will be back in the water soon!

Next comp – Sunday 26 July

So stoked to be back in the water for our next comp! However due to Covid restrictions things are going to be a little different to usual. We ask that you please work with us as best as you can, as this is a learning curve for everyone.

Firstly: This comp will be online registration only. There will be no registrations on the day – no exceptions. Registration will be online via liveheats <insert link here>. Rego will close on 5pm Friday 24 July.

Your heat times will be available by 5pm Saturday 25 July. Please check what time you’re surfing in advance and arrive around half an hour before your heat starts as you will need to have your temperature checked on arrival

If it’s over 37.5 degrees you’ll need to wait 10 mins and try again. If it is still over you will need to leave the area and won’t be able to surf.

  • Surf your heats, wash and rinse your rashies (responsibility of the competitor to wash, rinse and hang out to dry after each surf) and then leave the competition area. No hanging around unfortunately.
  • Competitors only to attend on the day unless support is required (eg parents)
  • Use hand sanitizers provided
  • Maintain social distancing of 1.5 metres when on the comp site
  • No approaching the judging area unless absolutely necessary. Your heat details will be available via live heats (we won’t have a screen or comp leader board)
  • Do not attend if you have ANY cold and flu symptoms
  • No sharing equipment

As always please keep an eye on our social channels for more details in the lead up. And don’t forget if you’re a paid up member for this year we will have your shirts to collect at the comp!

Sponsorship update
We’d like to give a big thank you to our major sponsors for the 2020-21 financial year:

  • The Falcon
  • Rip Curl Newcastle
  • SLD surfboards
  • The Kiosk
  • Nova Air and Electrical
  • Kim Burton Toyota
  • Highlite Fitness
  • BJs Workwear

We couldn’t do this without our sponsors, so members please try and thank them with your business!

Club weekend away - Save the date
This will be sick. We’re organising a club weekend away at Treachery on the weekend of September 19-20. More details to come but put in a placeholder now. It will be a family weekend so please bring partners, kids, etc. We will keep you posted!
